Nokia has launched a TD-SCDMA mobile phones first, Nokia 6788, the first devices to support TD-SCDMA 3G standard of China, in an event in Beijing. Nokia 6788 is a product of collaboration between Nokia and the largest mobile phone operator in China, China Mobile. TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) is a 3G standard in mobile phones developed by China Academy of Telecommunications Technology (Catt), and the combination of TDMA and CDMA components. TD-SCDMA combines support for data circuits, such as speech or video and packet-switched data from the Internet.
